Here's a closer look at the Atari Mega 2 ST computer which is my studio's main MIDI work horse. 8Mhz 16/32-bit processor, no hard drive and only 2 megabytes of memory and just a 720K 3.5" floppy but it'll out sequence my Pentium and is 1000 times more reliable. It's over 15 years old but I love it. This one I picked up a couple of years ago in a Goodwill thrift store for $15. It didn't have the keyboard unfortunately so I had to hack a keyboard from one of the many spare 1040 STs I have around the house to make it work with the Mega ST.
The monitor is an NEC Multisync II monitor. I built an interface to hook it up to the Atari ST to let me use all three graphic modes on a single monitor. Low and Medium modes used to only be accessable with the Atari colour monitor and high resolution mode used to only be accessable with the monochrome monitor. The Multisync monitor would work in all three modes.
Someday I want to get the keyboard/mouse interface to let it use a normal PC styled keyboard and mouse.
